SÓC TRĂNG, MEKONG DELTA, VIETNAM
Eight years down a slow river in the Mekong Delta.
Field notes on teaching, durian season, flooded rice fields, and a province that never quite made it into anyone’s guidebook.

SINCE 2018
GoNomadNest is a field guide to the Vietnam that doesn’t make the postcards, shot on Fujifilm and written from a provincial classroom rather than a rooftop bar. No top-ten lists, no filtered sunsets, just the morning markets, the roadside coffee, and the daily rhythm of a life built somewhere unhurried.

About the writer
Eight years in the Delta, unfiltered.
I’m Hein. Not a backpacker on a gap year, but a 51-year-old teacher who calls Sóc Trăng home. I traded the rush of Western life for the rhythm of the Mekong Delta, and I’ve learned the best stories aren’t found in top-ten lists. They’re in the morning markets, the roadside coffee shops, and the daily reality of provincial life.
Everything here is shot on my Fujifilm X-S10 and written from wherever I actually am, not from a hotel lobby.
